Condor Premium Economy Review
Flying can often feel like an endurance test, but certain airlines and classes can make it a more pleasant experience. Condor’s Premium Economy class offers a blend of affordability and comfort meant to attract frequent and leisure travelers alike. This review covers my recent experience on a transatlantic flight from New York to Frankfurt in Condor’s Premium Economy class.
Booking Process
Booking a Premium Economy ticket with Condor was straightforward. Their website is intuitive, with clear explanations of the different classes and what each offers. The upgrade from Economy to Premium Economy was relatively affordable compared to other airlines.
Pre-Flight Experience
Check-in was seamless and quick. Premium Economy passengers have their own dedicated counter, which reduced wait times significantly. Security screening was swift, and passengers had priority boarding, which meant boarding the aircraft without the usual rush.
Seat and Legroom
The true test of any premium class is the seat and legroom. Condor’s Premium Economy seats are noticeably wider than those in Economy class. Premium Economy passengers receive an amenity kit, which includes a toothbrush, toothpaste, eye mask, socks, and a refreshing towelette. These small touches make the long-haul journey more comfortable. A blanket and pillow are also provided and were of decent quality.
WiFi and Connectivity
WiFi is available for purchase on Condor’s flights. The connection was reasonably stable with a few interruptions. Pricing is on the higher side, but adequate for checking emails and light browsing. Each seat has a USB port and an electrical outlet for charging devices, which is a great convenience.
Restrooms and Cleanliness
The restrooms were kept clean throughout the flight. Condor seems diligent about maintaining cleanliness. Premium Economy passengers have access to restrooms shared with Business Class, which translates to shorter wait times.
Arrival and Disembarkation
Landing and disembarkation were smooth. Passengers in Premium Economy disembark sooner than those in Economy, speeding up customs and baggage claim processes. Baggage arrived promptly on the belt, which is always appreciated after a long journey.
Overall Impressions
Condor’s Premium Economy class strikes a balance between cost and comfort. The seats and legroom significantly elevate the experience from Economy class. The quality of service, meal options, and added amenities make long-haul flights more bearable. WiFi availability and a robust entertainment system ensure that passengers remain entertained or productive throughout the journey.
